I heard that Yogyakarta has beautiful beaches…
What are they like?

Look! This sea!
Isn’t it beautiful???

Wow! I’m surprised!
It’s much more beautiful than I imagined!

Right!
Let me introduce it in more detail!

What is Pantai Wediombo?
It is a beach located in the southeastern part of Yogyakarta province, about a 2-hour drive from the center of Yogyakarta.
It’s in an area a little further than the popular Pantai Indrayanti, so it’s relatively less crowded and a recommended beach for a more relaxed and leisurely time!

I’ve summarized the details in a video, so please be sure to check it out!
The Beach Scene
The seas of Yogyakarta are relatively high in waves and have many rocky areas, making them unsuitable for swimming, but Pantai Wediombo has lifeguards on duty at all times, and the rocky areas are relatively few compared to other beaches in Yogyakarta.

Because it’s a bit of a cove-like bay, the waves are calmer, and the seawater is very clear.
Take a look at this picture!

Even up close, the water is so clear and beautiful!

At dusk, the rocky shore of the beach is revealed, and the scenery with the sunset is truly wonderful!

Access & How to Get There
If you look up the route from Yogyakarta station to Pantai Wediombo, you can see that it takes about 2 hours.

Restaurants & Souvenir Shops
Restaurants
At this beach, even renting a mat to sit on the sand costs only about IDR 10,000 (about 90 yen), which is cheap even compared to other beaches, and is offered at local prices.
Similarly, the restaurants are very cheap, with nasi goreng, mie goreng, and cup noodles costing about IDR 10,000 – IDR 15,000 (90 to 140 yen).

Souvenir Shops
Among the beaches in Yogyakarta, Pantai Wediombo has a relatively large number of souvenir shops, and they even sell T-shirts with “Pantai Wediombo” written on them.

Please check out this video again!
It was very detailed and helpful!
