This time, I had the chance to stay at the long-admired The Ritz-Carlton, Bali,
and I’d like to share my experience with you.

It was absolutely amazing!

About the Room
This time, I had booked the most affordable room at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali (the Sawangan Junior Suite). However, when I arrived, I was upgraded to a higher-grade Villa!!
Room Type | Nightly Rate |
Sawangan Junior Suite (balcony) | Around IDR 6,000,000 – 9,000,000 |
Sawangan Junior Suite (Pool Access) | Around IDR 8,000,000 – 10,000,000 |
The Ritz-Carlton Suite (balcony) | Around IDR 9,000,000 – 12,000,000 |
The Ritz-Carlton Suite (Pool Access) | Around IDR 11,000,000 – 13,000,000 |
The Pavilion Villa | Around IDR 12,000,000 – 16,000,000 |
The Garden Villa | Around IDR 20,000,000 – 23,000,000 |
The Sky Villa | Around IDR 25,000,000 – 28,000,000 |
The Oceanfront Villa | Around IDR 100,000,000 – 120,000,000 |

Sawangan Junior Suite
This is the room I had originally booked.

I used my Marriott group points to book it…
(My points were about to expire…).
The usual rate seems to be around IDR 6,000,000 – IDR 8,000,000 per night.
Pavilion Villa
The room I actually stayed in after the upgrade.
Please check out this room tour video.
A private pool in the room!
This was the best.

By the way, whenever I stay in a private villa, I always float in the pool completely naked.
I can’t get enough of this indescribable sense of freedom.
Moreover, perhaps because the Nusa Dua area is relatively dark, you can see so many stars at night.
I could even see a faint glimpse of the Milky Way.

Next up is the bathtub.
It had a pillow for my neck and bath salts were provided. As someone who doesn’t usually take baths, I ended up taking three even though it was only a one-night, two-day stay.
By the way, the pool and bathtub are connected, so you can warm up in the tub and then cool down in the pool, creating an amazing, endless loop.

The toilet was a TOTO product that opened automatically when you approached and had an adjustable bidet!
For me, having not been back to Japan for about two years, it was a moving experience in the restroom lol.

Surprise Hospitality
The day of our stay was my wife’s birthday.
After booking, I received an email asking, “Do you have any special requests?” I requested to have the room decorated.

When we entered the room, there was a photo, a letter, and a cake waiting for us.
My wife was overjoyed, saying, “This is what top-tier hotel hospitality is all about.”
(It was her first time staying at a Ritz-Carlton.)
By the way, for her present, I had arranged in advance with “entowa beach store,” a swimwear brand in Bali run by a Japanese person, to handle everything from product selection and wrapping to pre-delivery to the hotel.

This was also displayed in our hotel room.
My wife loved the beautiful swimwear, so if you’re interested, please check it out!!

Breakfast
Breakfast was a buffet style.
I think they had about five times the variety of a normal hotel. We ended up staying at the breakfast venue for three hours and ate everything lol.
Bread, fruit, various cheeses, salad, Indonesian food, Western food, Indian food, Chinese food, desserts, drinks, and more.

I seriously ate enough for three meals.. lol.
Whether breakfast is included seems to depend on the room type. In my case, it wasn’t included, but adding it was the right decision!

The breakfast price is normally IDR 346,200, but for Marriott members, it’s IDR 246,200.
Stunning Photo Spots
There are two particularly recommended photo spots at The Ritz-Carlton.
The Beachside Chapel

This photo was taken at dusk.

Isn’t it absolutely gorgeous?!
By the way, it seems that it’s often used for weddings, especially on weekends, so it might not be available during the day.
In my case, I went early in the morning before breakfast and asked a staff member to take our picture.

The Spot Overlooking the Sea from the Hotel Lobby
What immediately overwhelms you upon entering the hotel is the view from the lobby.
The lobby is situated on a cliff, and from there, you take an elevator down to the rooms and restaurant area.

The view from here is truly magnificent.
It’s a lovely lobby on the clifftop where you can feel the pleasant sea breeze.

At the recommendation of the staff member who took our photo, he also took one from behind!

By the way, no matter which staff member you ask, they seem to know all the best photo spots and are great at taking pictures, giving suggestions for poses and the best angles. That’s another high point!
This video of the view from the lobby is also very beautiful, so please take a look.
The Pool
The pool is directly connected to the beach, and you can order drinks and light meals from the bar.

The cocktails were also very delicious.
By the way, for cocktails, happy hour is from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. If you buy one, you get another one free!

Here’s the bar’s drink and food menu.

The pool also connects directly to the beach, and the sea in the Nusa Dua area is very beautiful.
↓ There was a bit of seaweed floating around, but they were in the middle of cleaning it up.

At night, it’s lit up and has another wonderful atmosphere.

I ordered another beer here!
The Balinese craft beer, Kura Kura, is so delicious.

By the way, it seems they also have packages for anniversaries, offering a wonderful dinner time on the beach.
(I borrowed this photo of someone else’s setup.)

Getting Around the Property
You can get around the property in a golf cart.
When you call for one, it arrives in just 2-3 minutes, which is very helpful.
