I’d like you to tell me about a restaurant in Yogyakarta that the locals go to…

In that case, how about “Waroeng SS,” which is very popular with the locals in Yogyakarta and is now expanding globally?

What is “Waroeng SS”?

Waroeng Spesial Sambal “SS” is a restaurant chain that offers 15 different types of sambal as its main feature, along with Ayam goreng and Ayam Bakar.

Waroeng SS opened its first store in Yogyakarta in 2002. It began to show its appeal by offering freshly made deliciousness by providing 15 types of sambal and various side dishes and vegetables “made to order.”

In fact, consumers can also change the spiciness of the chili sauce according to their preference.
After opening its first store in 2002, it expanded to several branches, mainly in student areas. The response to Waroeng SS was also heard in the neighboring city of Solo, and eventually, in 2006, the first branch was established in Solo. Soon after, Waroeng SS began to expand to other cities such as Semarang, Tangerang, Purwokerto, and several cities in East Java.

Now, it has expanded to the neighboring country of Malaysia, successfully achieving global expansion.

Recommended Menu
Although the wide variety of sambal is the main attraction of this restaurant…
The best menu item to go with the sambal is…
Ayam kampung goreng

Ayam kampung is similar to what would be called free-range chicken.
It’s a muscular, flavorful chicken raised free-range. It has an exceptional taste, especially when paired with sambal, so be sure to try it!

For Ayam Kampung, the “paha” (thigh) is especially recommended! It’s fatty and very delicious!
Bebek goreng dada

Another signature product is the Bebek goreng dada!
It’s fried duck, and for duck, the breast meat (dada) is especially recommended!
After all, the real pleasure of “Waroeng SS” is the sambal, so try to find one that suits your taste!

Sharing with everyone is the real joy here!
Be sure to invite your friends and go to Waroeng SS!
